2023 Interior Design Trends

We’ve watched various home interior trends come and go (who ever would have thought that gray would ever go out of style?!), but I wanted to take a look at what interior design trends we’ve seen happening in 2023 according to various sources.

  1. The influence of the natural world
The beauty of the natural world has always come into play when it comes to design, and we’ve seen a lot more of that inspiration come into the interior design of homes. Over the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of the “earthy” and “organic” elements styled in homes whether it be the introduction of organic inspired wallpapers (yes, we’ve seen WALLPAPER come back into style!), or naturally styled vases.

  2. Golds
Who would have thought GOLD would have come back into style? Not me! For so long, I was very anti-anything gold in my home, but over the last few years, stylists have done such a beautiful job at incorporating different hues and textures of golds into homes and making them look so modern and elegant. The reincorporation of gold elements really brings out a lot of warmth and coziness in your home and really gives off a “welcoming” presence. I never thought I would see myself wanting to introduce gold into my home until probably the end of 2022. Is the gold here to stay? We shall see…

  3. Textures
Another element that has become growingly more popular is the introduction of various textures in your home. Gone are the all sleek and smooth design elements in your home- we want organic, earthly texture! As you browse around Target, you’ll see the more naturally inspired home goods such as roughly styled vases and bowls. Pair this organic inspired decor with a faux Olive Tree and you’re well on your way to having a 2023 styled home.

  4. White Oak/Unfinished Flooring

The world is shook to hear that gray flooring is no longer in style. Here I was thinking my home with it’s gray vinyl floors would withstand all of societies ‘ins” and “outs” of the world since gray is a pretty neutral color, only to now be questioning the selection I made back in 2020. This warm toned, unfinished looking flooring, is the new gray.

  5. Curves and Arches

It’s like we’re back in medieval European days. Yes, curved front doors as well as hallways are very much in style in 2023. We started seeing their slow appearance back in 2021, and they have slowly became the popular thing amongst home builders and home buyers. The beautiful thing about curved doors and entry ways is they look entirely custom, and give your home some organic characteristics, which we already know is the influenced style of 2023.
